Day 34: Halfmoon Bay to San Fransisco, Ca

Hey Everyone!

Well this morning I took my time I Saw another Cyclist I chatted with him for a bit he told me about hitting several buffets at casinos was a good way to fill up! Well we swapped some stories then he headed out. After that I decided to take a shower and I made some some  ministone soup but this time thanks to Courtney's cooking tips I got some fresh kale and some avacados at the farmers market yesterday so when the soup was simmering I added all these ingredients in as well as some chopped garlic and some small chunks of summer sausage and it turned out pretty good and tasted delicious!
While doing this I contacted Warmshowers host Lani in San Fransisco, Ca and she got back to me right away! She said I could stay 1 night possibly 2! So soon after that I hit not road this time but the bike path right out of camp!
Not too long after getting on the path I ran into a guy with a Brompton! His name was Bill he had a unique set up on his Brompton he converted his rear hub to a 11 speed Alfine! It was pretty massive he had to rebuild the rear wheel and modify the rear frame to fit the massive hub! We talked for quite awile he seemed pretty well versed in the tech specs of the brompton and was intrigued to see me touring on one! so we ended up swapping contact info and he informed me of some hazards to watch out for on my way into San Francisco what a fun surprise!
Well after that I continued on the path and it ended eventually and I got back on the main hwy and after a few climbs I made my way to a tunnel that was newly done!
This is the other end of it.
After that I got a nice downhill ride into Daly City, Ca
Once in the city I got back on another bike path!
I had another big climb then another downhill on a zig zag path.
After that things flattened out for a bit till I got to the out skirts of San Fransisco!
After a bunch of hill climbing I got into the flatter part of the city and made my way to Lani's place at about 7pm. She was very welcoming and kind! She had 5 roommates so it was a pretty full house but a lot of fun! They also had about 15 bicycles some hanging up and outside as well it was pretty cool! Here's some pics of the place it's pretty Artistic.
Here's the stairway to the loft whare I would be sleeping.
Here's a shot inside the loft it was a fun little room!
Once I got setteled in Lani showed me the laundry room whare I could wash my clothes and also of course my warm shower! After showering up and changing I explored around for a short bit and hit the nearby Safeway but after that it started raining so I decided to cut it short and head back and go to bed since I didn't have my rain gear on me. Well that's it for this entry thanks for reading!
